Surge Protection Range
The PowerMan SPD range of lightning and surge protection units, are designed to protect equipment against spikes and surges.

A spike is an instantaneous severe increase in voltage (normally 100 % more than nominal voltage). Electronic equipment in the path of a severe spike can expect to have blown components in the power section. Typically a spike would be caused by either a lightning storm or when power is restored after a failure.

The PowerMan SPD units offer the most cost effective form of protection, and are usually purchased to provide a buffer against lightning. Combination units are available to protect both the power and telephone lines.

Code Description
  SPD01

Lightning and surge protection device that can be plugged directly into the mains and the equipment that needs to be protected plugs into the front of the device. To be used with any office or house hold equipment that runs from the mains such as Telephone systems, intercoms, washing machines, Microwave oven etc .

  SPD02

Lightning and surge protection for both mains and telephone lines are incorporated into this unit. This unit should be used on all modems, fax machines, cordless telephones and any units that use a combination of electricity and telecommunications.

  SPD03
Standard Plug
Lightning and surge protection built into a standard SABS approved plug that can be connected to a single device that requires protection. To be used with any office or house hold equipment that runs from the mains.

  SPD03D
Dedicated Plug
Lightning and surge protection built into a standard SABS approved plug that can be connected to a single device that requires protection. To be used with any office or house hold equipment that runs from the mains.

SPD06-RM As per the LPD06 this unit should be used to protect the hubs. All network cables need to be protected on both sides to prevent damage to the connected equipment. This unit will protect 12 cables and mounts into a standard 19” cabinet.

SPD07 Lightning and surge protection for both mains and data lines are incorporated into this unit. This unit should be used on all computers that are connected to a local area network.

SPD10 Lightning and surge protection for mains, telephone and data lines are incorporated into this unit. This unit should be used on all multi function printers.

SPD13 Lightning and surge protection for both mains and television aerial inputs are incorporated into this unit. This unit should be used on television sets or decoders that communicate via radio signals.

SPD14 Lightning and surge protection for both mains and Satellite decoder inputs are incorporated into this unit. This unit should be used on all satellite decoders.

SPD15 The unit is designed to protect the LMB inside the dish from spike or surges induced by lightning.

SPD16 The unit is designed to protect closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) from spikes or surges induced by lightning. The units are installed at each camera between the camera and the communication cable.
